8TH CLASS OF HAZARD –
CORROSIVE AND CAUSTIC SUBSTANCES

Our company is ready to take responsibility for the transportation of dangerous goods of the 8th class of hazard and the transportation of caustic and corrosive substances in any quantity and at the most reasonable prices

Transportation of the 8th class of hazard involves the movement of such substances, if they get on the surface of the skin, mucous membranes or other goods, with a further negative impact on them. This includes materials that form a corrosive liquid only in the case of interaction with water (page 269 of ADR). The transport of caustic substances is classified as dangerous transport and is regulated by the rules for the transport of dangerous goods.

THE TRANSPORT OF DANGEROUS GOODS OF THE 8TH <>CLASS OF HAZARD IS DIVIDED FOR THE TRANSIT OF THREE GROUPS OF TRANSPORT PACKAGING:
I. HIGHLY CORROSIVE (ACIDS) destroy the skin to the full depth in 60 minutes., after exposure in less than 3 min.
II. CORROSION (ALKALI) destroys the skin to the depth of up to 14 days after exposure for 3 to 60 min
III. Slightly CORROSIVE destroys the skin to the depth of up to 14 days after exposure in less than 3 min., not destroys the skin to the depth, but corrode the surface of steel or aluminium

TRANSPORTATION OF CAUSTIC SUBSTANCES

Transportation of goods of the 8th class of hazard includes transportation of corrosive substances of a wide range of names. The transport of caustic substances can be carried out by the bulk method in tanks, or in packaging by the appropriate transport of dangerous goods. If caustic and corrosive substances are in the container and packaging, then they can not be particularly dangerous goods and transportation of corrosive goods can be carried out by tented or boarded vehicles. Transportation of caustic cargo requires a responsible approach and control at all stages of transportation of the 8th class of hazard
