Transportation of mercury lamps involves the transportation of fluorescent lamps filled with mercury vapor. If mercury-containing lamps are transported in their original packaging, the ADR requirements do not apply and it will apply when mercury lamps are transported for disposal. Such used lamps are tightly stacked next to each other in special containers, and mercury lamps are transported to the disposal site at a speed of no more than 60 km per hour and only in closed vehicles.
