Its outstanding feature can be called the property of corroding glass. For this reason, the transport of hydrofluoric acid is prohibited in glass containers and packaging.
It is used in the manufacture of fluorides, etching of glass and boards in microelectronics. Transportation of hydrofluoric acid by road is carried out in polyethylene cans, tanks, containers by tented vehicles. Such delivery of acid is defined as dangerous transport and is regulated by the rules for the transit of dangerous goods.
